Getting started

LovingBooking API

Read a business’s catalogue, check what times are genuinely open, and make, move or cancel bookings. Over plain REST, or over the Model Context Protocol so an AI agent can do it directly.

Your first request

That exact call runs right now against the sandbox — four demo businesses (a yoga studio, a consultancy, a nail salon and a barbershop), each with a published key, its own timezone and currency, and every error path reachable on purpose. No database sits behind it, so nothing you send can touch a real diary.

What it can do

  • Read the catalogue — services, team members and venues, and who performs what where.
  • Ask what times are open on a day, or a run of up to fourteen, using the same rules as the public booking page: working hours, days off, buffers, booking notice, existing appointments and connected-calendar blocks. Each open time names the team members free then.
  • Read the diary over a date range, one booking by its id, or one client’s bookings; find a client by name, email or phone.
  • Create a booking, move one, and cancel one.

What it deliberately does not do

This API does not move money

LovingBooking does not process booking payments. There is no card rail, capture or refund anywhere in this API, and it takes no deposit: a business may ask for a deposit or full payment by its own QR when a customer books, paid to the business directly and checked by hand. Every priceCents is the list value of a booking — what it is worth — and never money that has been received.

amountRecordedCents is what the owner has manually marked as paid out of band. It is their record, not a settlement this platform made. Do not build a checkout on either.

It covers appointments, one-to-one and group. Class timetables, class seats, passes and treatment notes are not exposed.

Nothing in v1 writes services, prices, staff or working hours either. A leaked key must not be able to re-price a business or take its booking page dark, so those verbs do not exist rather than being guarded.

How time and money are written

Every instant is returned twice: in UTC (startsAt) and on the business’s own clock with its offset (startsAtLocal). Send either back as a start time. Every date parameter is read in the business’s own timezone, which GET /me reports — because “Tuesday” means the owner’s Tuesday, not the caller’s. Money is an integer in the business’s own currency: minor units for most, so SGD 120.00 is 12000, but whole units for JPY, KRW, IDR and VND, so ¥5,000 is 5000.
